The Versatility Of Prezi Presentation Design

By Daphne Bowen

New presentation tools such as prezi have recently emerged in a bid to change how presentations are made. Different prezi presentation design has helped individuals and groups explore uncharted territory in techniques of displaying their data. Its conceptualization has helped bridge the gap between old redundant presentation tools and new exciting technology.

The creation and development only took place less than a decade ago yet a huge variety of people such as students, business executives and teachers have totally embraced it. It was originally made by three Hungarian nationals thus name, which is the Hungarian word for presentation.

Using it is pretty straight forward. First, you must log in to their website at prezi.com or create an account if you do not currently have one. You can choose a free or paid account based on your preference and after that you are good to go. There are plenty of tutorials on the web on how to get started with your new account therefore new users should not be in any way intimidated.

Getting down to the nifty gritty of design elements, one will notice an array of different template designs available at your disposal. These are only meant to serve as a guiding principle on the overall outlook of your final design. They serve to provide a basis of interaction between your text, colors and objects orientation. The 2-D and 3-D features popular with it are also determined by the choice of template design.

Since the templates usually only provide the skeleton, the details of the actual presentation will be determined by what you actually intend on presenting. A more general approach that works all the time is to base your ideas around major points of your talk. This will not only give you a bigger picture but will also help you in filling out the minor details at much more ease.

The dynamism offered by prezi is important in giving it the edge over other tools. This coupled with the fact that it offers an escape from boring old ways is a huge advantage on its part. It also does not hurt that it is totally free and available on a cloud basis. This implies that you can edit your work and access it anywhere at any time.

Although being entirely available online is a merit on its part, it could work to the disadvantage of the user in situations where their location has very limited or no access to the internet. Some complaints have also been raised concerning the dizziness effects the 3-D presentations can have on an audience especially when the presenter is quickly scanning through the illustrations. Older people are more inclined to revert to tools they are more used to working with due to the learning curve associated with attempting to understand it.

In conclusion, prezi is a very powerful tool that should be encouraged for use by individuals or groups. Those who are willing to go through the process of learning and understanding its use get to reap the rewards it has to offer.
