Visiting The Wonderful Cuchara Colorado

By Essie Osborn

Just south of La Veta town is a fabulous place to visit. Finding great destinations isn't hard, what with the information highway providing anything people need at their fingertips. Cuchara Colorado is one such place that is nestled upon the slopes of the mountains in the south-central part of the state.

It starts off with snow capped mountains and is full of beautiful rivers and fields, situated close by to the Highway 12. Hiking through the mountains is possible year-round, as are many other activities. There is also horseback riding for people to enjoy the panoramic views that exist.

For those who enjoy getting away and bonding with nature, this is the place to do it. The scenery is incredible and anyone who is fond of nature will notice its beauty immediately. Whether romantic or adventurous, everyone can take some time to glimpse at some of the most breathtaking sunsets around.

The accommodations are down to earth, rustic style which is in keeping with the surroundings. Lots of private cabins are available in addition to inns, so visitors have their choice in this regard. If family time is what the doctor called for, then this is the place to do it. Enjoy the gorgeous flowers, the chirping birds, fishing in the creek or pond.

Soothe the soul and unwind like never before, as it's a far cry from the busy big cities and all their interruptions. Take a drive only twenty minutes away to engage in wonderful shopping or enjoy a game of golf. Just over an hour away is Dunes National Park, a fabulous place that will breathe new life into any visitor. Cuchara is well located to access many incredible attractions.

There is so much to take in at any time of the year in Cuchara, as the scenery changes with each season. Of course, fall provides some of the most beautiful colors, as the trees' leaves turn different colors. Within the town, visitors can enjoy the Dog Bar. It's a pet friendly bar/restaurant that plays live music on weekends. Summertime is fabulous, with lots of travelers who want to have a good time, while benefiting from the cooler temperatures.

This is a rustic place that prides itself on the simpler things in life, so many accommodations may not have televisions and some other modern day technology, although some may be equipped with WiFi of late. The point is that staying in this incredible place will likely leave people with the most wonderful memories and the desire to return.

It's a picturesque destination that is welcoming to all families. A trip to Colorado is unforgettable, but it must be topped off with a stopover at least, but preferably a few days stay over, in the friendly town of Cuchara. Kick back or get out there and enjoy all it has to offer, because it aims to please.
